Crystal River Florida Manatee Conservation Zones

Boat strikes are a significant danger to manatees.  Manatee protection rules are established by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to restrict the speed and operation of vessels where necessary to protect manatees from harmful collisions with vessels and from harassment.
